My name is Sara Avbelj, I am 18 years old and I am a student at the Secondary School of Media and Graphics in Ljubljana. I was born on October 30, 2002 to my loving parents.
As a child, I loved taking photos on an analog camera, as that was the only way I could take photos because I didn’t have a phone yet. Phones back then, however, didn’t have as good a camera as they have today. Whenever I had the chance, I took it in my hands and painted what I saw, but I liked to paint animals, especially horses or flowers that I found in the grass. For my 5th birthday, my aunt bought me her mickey mouse, an analog camera, which I still have today, but unfortunately it doesn’t work anymore.
It was because of this love for photography that I enrolled at SMGŠ, and after finishing the 1st year I was finally able to afford a Nikon D5300 SLR camera. But over the years, that love of photography has disappeared. But during quarantine, I felt like coming back because when I had nothing to do for school, I started taking self-portraits and posting them on instagram. Now I also like to go to nature and paint everything I see and find interesting. However, it is always and still is my favorite portrait photography, as it gives me the opportunity to get a little together.
